Dubrovnik

The game and games art installation is posted in the airspace of the international terminal of Dubrovnik Airport. Hovering over the terminal, seven figures mull over the movement of human body in water and suggest the water polo game. Quite a distinctive and intriguing material, egg carton tray, was used in making these figures. A consumable having a sculptural form with the alteration of the full and the empty was transformed into a whole new artistic appearance through recycling and visual thinking. This exhibition was initiated by the architect Lea Đurović Ruso, head of the architecture firm Proto-arch, who felt the need and saw the importance of joining the architecture and contemporary art, especially in Dubrovnik, a city branded as a cultural tourism destination. Since Dubrovnik Airport represents the first contact of tourists with the destination, this installation is an ideal blend of architecture, art and inheritance of Dubrovnik proud of its long-lasting water polo tradition. Mr. Roko Tolić, CEO of Dubrovnik Airport, recognized this idea and supported the permanent exhibition of this installation within the new terminal C of Dubrovnik Airport.
