The Dubrovnik puzzle
Audio-visual installation the Dubrovnik puzzle tackles various levels of the visual and existential perception of reality. With its particularly attractive views and a specific way of life and philosophy, a remarkable city of Dubrovnik provides visual artists, especially those deeply immersed in its reality, with a hard to resist artistic challenge. I attempted to visually represent the analysis of harmony and dynamics of the visual and architectural aspects and the fullness of life in Dubrovnik. The idea was to create a bond of visual (panoramic views depicting cityscape), visual-haptic (sculptural materialization of possible life situations) and auditory facts (audio tapes with recorded Dubrovnik street noises) which overlap and fulfil each other, confirming the concise truth of the Dubrovnik reality.
