Where do we come from?, What are we?, Where are we going?

At the beginning of its creation (2019), the multimedia spatial installation "Where do we come from?, What are we?, Where are we going?" was a kind of artistic reflection on the syndrome of impersonal masses of cruise and mass tourism, which affected not only Dubrovnik, but was one of the synonyms for the devaluing form of tourism before the pandemic. The title of the work is a reference to the famous painting by French artist Paul Gauguin, which he painted in Tahiti in 1897 to escape the polluted city and the false bourgeois glamor of Paris. The questions that Gauguin poses today are very applicable to the problems of creating a collective "mass" consciousness and the question of one's identity in today's world. In the complete chaos and uncertainty of the newly created situation, when in one moment the whole world stopped its movement, the questions raised became more and more complex and the work took on a completely unexpected new dimension, vociferously seeking answers.
